How an order moves

The kitchen only cooks orders that are real

Every order is confirmed by email first, then moves across the board.

Setting it up

Six steps to your own restaurant

You will need

  • A Ubex account, where the app's workflows and tables run
  • A Resend account with a verified sending domain, for the order emails
  1. Add the secrets the workflows use: RESEND_API_KEY and JWT_SECRET.
  2. Verify a sending domain with Resend and set the sender address on the Create Order workflow.
  3. Set the app's address in the allowed origins of the workflows and in the confirmation link.
  4. Create a staff account.
  5. Enter the restaurant's details in Settings and add its dishes and photos in the console.
  6. Publish the app on a subdomain or custom domain.
Good to know

What it doesn't do

Better to know now than later. You can add any of this yourself: the code is yours to change.

  • No online paymentThere is no card or wallet checkout. Guests are not charged on the website.
  • Pickup onlyNo delivery, delivery zones or delivery tracking.
  • No table booking“Reserve” simply calls the restaurant's phone number.
  • No automatic pickup timesNo time slots or live estimates. “20-30 minutes” is fixed text.
  • One email per orderThe confirmation email is the only one. Customers aren't notified when the status changes.
  • No printers or POSNo printing to kitchen printers and no POS integration.
  • No stock or modifiersNo stock tracking, loyalty points, or dish options such as sizes and extras.
  • One of eachOne location and one currency per app.
  • Gift cards are single useThe first order uses up the full value, so anything above that order's total is not kept.
  • Guests can't cancelOnly signed-in customers can cancel, and only before confirming.
  • No role editingThere is no screen for changing a staff member's role.
  • Console for desktop and tabletOn a phone the staff console has no section menu.

Everything in these screens is made up: Ferro & Fig, its address and phone numbers, its customers, orders, gift cards and dishes. The food and restaurant photos are placeholders from Unsplash. They are not part of the app, so replace them with your own.
